Alison Mayne

About Alison Mayne

Alison Mayne, otherwise known as Knitrospective, provides knit, crochet, sewing and spinning tuition groups and regularly holds “cake and craft” days. She uses her studio space to spin yarn, design a range of knit and crochet patterns, experiment in various textile techniques and create handcrafted products with her husband. These products range from hand-turned wooden spindles made from reclaimed whisky casks, 3D printed spindles, as well as a range of jewellery made from recycled computer parts called Tech-Lace. She is also a textiles researcher, with a PhD that focused on the impact crochet and knit have on wellbeing and other research, which can be found on her website.
