How did your organisation start?

D2 The Creative Centre is a family run business, started in 2002. Craig McKechnie, who founded D2, wanted it to be inclusive for all, no matter what level of ability was. Adam McKechnie took over 2020.

What creative activities you offer as an organisation?

We run classes, for all abilities. People can make many creative outputs from a wide range of mediums with us: clay, pastels, acrylics, watercolour – the list is endless.

Who does your organisation admire?

We love contemporary artists. We love and admire Frida Kahlo.

What advice would you give creatives who are just starting out?

Take you time and be yourself. Never conform to what you think people want or expect from your art. It is yours and yours alone! Never give up!

What can visitors expect when visiting your space during Falkirk Open Studios?

We run a big art centre with exhibitions on throughout the year. We also have studios you can look around, where creatives rent spaces from us. See our classes as they run, and even browse our small gift shop.
