Help make Open Studios Falkirk a success
Every visitor who walks through a studio door will be there because someone helped spread the word. Whether you have a large following or simply tell a few friends, your support makes a real difference. This kit is designed to help participants and supporters promote the event through useful tips and downloads.
Easy ways to help
You don’t need to be a marketing expert. Here are some of the most effective things you can do:
- Invite previous customers and collectors.
- Tell friends, neighbours and colleagues.
- Share the event on your social media channels (see ready-made visuals below to download, to help you do this).
- Display a poster in your studio, workplace or a local café – contact Nikki or Rhona to get one.
- Add the event to your email signature (see some suggested wording below).
- Mention the event whenever you’re talking about your work.
- Encourage visitors to bring a friend.
If every participating artist reaches 10-20 people, together we’ll introduce hundreds more visitors to the creative community across Falkirk.
Six-week marketing plan
- Week 6: Read the Marketing Kit and download the visuals, announce you’re taking part, tell friends, family and previous customers, and add the event to your website, newsletter and social media.
- Week 5: Put up posters and leave flyers in local cafés, shops, libraries, community venues and workplaces (with permission), while continuing to spread the word in person.
- Week 4: Share behind-the-scenes content, talk about what visitors can expect, and personally invite neighbours, colleagues, local groups and clubs.
- Week 3: Deliver flyers locally, share the story behind your work, and encourage friends, customers and followers to share the event with others.
- Week 2: Increase your promotion across social media, email and word of mouth, reminding people of the dates, venue and opening times.
- Week 1: Share a final reminder, make sure your posters and signs are in place, and personally invite anyone who has shown an interest.
- During the event: Welcome visitors, share updates throughout the day, encourage people to visit other studios, and enjoy meeting your audience.
- After the event: Thank visitors, share highlights from the weekend, and keep in touch with the new connections you’ve made.
