About Nikki Monaghan

Nikki Monaghan is a painter living and working from her studio in Falkirk, Scotland. Born in Bathgate and raised in Falkirk, she studied at the Scottish College of Textiles, earning a BA (Hons) Printed Textile Design. After working in the creative industries for several years, she became a full-time artist. She loves painting Scotland’s villages and cities, and even the occasional red deer. She builds her paintings through layers of paint, inks, charcoals and pastels, creating depth and texture. Her work is featured in galleries, publications and private collections worldwide.

Nikki will have some free colouring-in sheets available, based on
little black-and-white pencil-style drawings of her artwork. She printed them recently for a community class, and they were such a lovely success, so she thought it would be nice to have them in the studio during Open Studios too. A wee creative extra for children, families, or anyone who fancies taking home something fun to colour in.
